A life-changing book if ever there was one!

I highly recommend this book to anyone in his/her journey of self-actualization. Mr. Keyes speaks of the "aha experience", and I must say that I had many while reading it. You do have the power within to be happy and to have rewarding relationships. This book gives you the tools to get started. I can't say that I'm all the way there, but it's nice to have a reference place to remind me where I'd like to be.

This book has a lot of easy techniques for improving your quality of life in a relationship. It talks about converting "addictive demands" to "preferences", accepting your partner and creating an "us" relationship. Just practicing the first two techniques can completely change the feeling in your marriage whether your partner reads the book or not.
The book borrows from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques (many of which have good experimental efficacy studies) but is written in an easy to understand, interesting and readable style.

This book changed all of my realationships, including my marriage..but especially my relationship with myself...it taught me how to depersonalize other peoples behavior and gain my emtional independence...the suggested techniques truly brought balance to my thoughts and emotions. I have since pursued a certification in Anger Management, after accomplishing that goal i am now pursuing a degree in Psychology...if you can get past the bad programming in your life or the lives of others that you are surrounded with....life is a pretty sweet experience! This book is easy to read and will help you accomplish that goal! I highly recommend this book!

Good overview

I enjoyed reading the author's highlighting of some of Merton's important and recurring themes. At times, however, I felt a bit confused as to whether the written summaries were in Merton's words or a commentary by the author. I would have liked more of Merton's own wording..there was some but I wanted more. The author has a very deep appreciation of Merton's significance as a spiritual person and prolific writer.

Today's review is on Daywalker: The Beginning-Nightwalkers, #1 by J. C. Stone

Daywalker is a fantastic read that captures the reader instantly, and takes them on a wild and crazy ride along with its main character Lacy Logan.

At just 21-years-old, Lacy is excited to be opening her own business as a Paranormal Investigator. Her career is cut short however when a hotter-than-hell, gorgeous man appears in her office, and literally sucks the life out of her and vanishes.

She doesn't know it, but she is a Daywalker. And Nightwalkers, like the one that attacked her, seek out supernaturals like her to take their power so that they can walk in the sun.

Everything about Daywalker is perfect except..........it's just to short!! At just 38ish pages, I feel a little jilted. I would love to see this as a full-length book. *hint, hint*

Great Read!!

I really loved reading this book. It was a quick read, probably about 40 minutes, and it captured my attention right from the start! The writer has an excellent sense of humor and the plot was highly intriguing - it definitely was not what I had expected (in a good way!). I also really loved Lacy's kick-ass character and how easy it was to relate to her.
This was definitely worth the 99 cents! Can't wait to read more in the future!

Exciting and wild!!

This was a really fun and intriguing book to read. It captivated me from the beginning, and I literally read it from start to finish in one setting. The author grabs you with her wit, humor and wild suspense. Hard to put down. It is a short story with a great punch! Where's the next one Ms Stone??

About the Author
Dr. Joaquin M. Fuster was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1930. Studied medicine at the University of Barcelona. In Barcelona and Innsbruck (Austria), he specialized in psychiatry. In 1957 Fuster emigrated to the United States for a career in neuroscience at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In 1962-64, he worked as a visiting scientist at the Max-Planck Institute for Psychiatry in Munich. He received his PhD. in neuroscience at the University of Granada, Spain. Dr. Fuster is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and a member of the Brain Research Institute and the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at the UCLA's School of Medicine.

Dr. Fuster's major honors and awards include: the title of Member of Honor of the Spanish Royal Academy of Medicine (1997); Signoret Prize (Université de La Sorbonne, Paris) (2000); Fyssen International Science Prize (2000); Doctor Honoris Causa, Universidad Miguel Hernández, Alicante, Spain (2003); Goldman-Rakic Prize for Cognitive Neuroscience (NARSAD) (2006); George Miller Prize of the Cognitive Neuroscience Society (2006); Doctor Honoris Causa, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2008); Geschwind Lecturer, Harvard University (2009); Woolsey Lecturer, University of Wisconsin (2010); Elected Member, American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2010); Segerfalk Lecturer, University of Lund, Sweden (2010); Doctor Honoris Causa, Universidad Francisco Marroquín, Guatemala (2014). Dr. Fuster is the author of more than 200 articles and 8 books.
